Around the Campfire
Honey glazed carrots are a simple campsite side that brings color and sweetness to the table. They work especially well beside pork chops, chicken, steak, or rice bowls.
Why This Recipe Works
Carrots need time to soften before the glaze goes on. Adding honey near the end keeps the carrots glossy without scorching the sugar.

Heat Zones
Use medium heat and give the vegetables room to caramelize rather than steam.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds carrots, peeled and sliced into 1/4-inch coins (about 6 medium carrots)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

Cook in batches for larger groups.
Weather Notes
Wind can slow softening. Keep pieces small for faster cooking.
Leftovers
Use leftovers in bowls, wraps, or breakfast hash.
Kid Helper Tasks
Kids can sprinkle parsley after cooking.
Dragonfly Tip
Honey is a finish, not a starting ingredient.

Try one batch with honey and one with maple syrup. Pick the better camp side.
