Around the Campfire
Monterey Jack burgers are a softer, creamier change from the classic cheeseburger. The cheese melts easily, the avocado adds a fresh finish, and the whole burger still cooks fast enough for a busy camp dinner.
This recipe teaches delicate topping timing. Avocado is not a griddle ingredient; it belongs at the end.
Why This Recipe Works
A hot Blackstone creates the burger crust while Monterey Jack melts quickly without needing a long covered cook. Toasted buns and cool avocado balance the richness.

Weather Notes
Hot weather can soften avocado quickly. Keep it shaded until serving.
Leftovers
Use leftover patties in breakfast bowls or quesadillas.
Kid Helper Tasks
Kids can set out buns and toppings. Older kids can help mash avocado for a topping spread.
Dragonfly Tip
Cut avocado at the last minute. It keeps the burger bright and avoids brown toppings.
