Around the Campfire
Peach cobbler bites sit right on the line between breakfast treat and campsite dessert. That makes them useful for slow mornings, rainy afternoons, or the night when everyone wants something sweet but you do not want a full baking project.
This recipe teaches low, patient heat. Dough and fruit need time to warm through without scorching the outside.
Why This Recipe Works
The Blackstone can toast the outside of the dough while a cover helps the filling warm through. The key is gentle heat and small pieces.

Shopping List
- Biscuit dough
- Peach pie filling or diced peaches

Equipment
- Blackstone griddle
- Spatula
- Melting dome or foil pan cover
Heat Zones
Use low to medium-low heat. A cover helps the centers cook without burning the outside.
Ingredients
- 1 (16 oz/454 g) can refrigerated biscuit dough (8 small biscuits)
- 1 cup peach pie filling or diced canned peaches (drained)
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon sugar
- 1 tablespoon butter or neutral oil (for the griddle)
Instructions
- Preheat griddle on low to medium-low.
- Flatten small pieces of biscuit dough (use 1 biscuit per bite).
- Add about 2 teaspoons of peach filling in the center of each piece.
- Fold or pinch closed to seal the filling inside.
- Brush the griddle with 1 tablespoon butter or oil. Place filled biscuits on the griddle.
- Cook gently on the griddle for 6–8 minutes per side, turning as needed, until golden.
- Cover with a melting dome or foil pan for the last 4–5 minutes to help centers cook through.
- Remove when dough is cooked through and golden brown. Immediately dust with 2 tablespoons cinnamon sugar.
Doneness
Dough should be cooked through and no longer raw in the center.
Common Mistakes
- Using too much filling.
- Cooking too hot.
- Making pieces too large.
Serving Suggestions
Serve as a sweet breakfast side, dessert, or afternoon snack. Delicious topped with whipped cream or served with a scoop of vanilla yogurt.
Variations
- Use apple pie filling.
- Add chopped pecans.
- Serve with whipped cream.
Dietary Adaptations
Use dietary-specific dough if needed. Exact substitutions depend on available brands.
Scaling
Cook in batches and keep pieces small.
Weather Notes
This works well in cool weather, but wind makes covering more important.
Leftovers
Best fresh. Reheat gently if needed.
Kid Helper Tasks
Kids can sprinkle cinnamon sugar and help count pieces.
Dragonfly Tip
Small bites cook better than big pockets. Keep them modest and they will finish before they burn.
Dragonfly Challenge
Try peach on half and apple on half. Let the campsite pick the keeper.
