The 40°F Rule

Keep refrigerated foods at or below 40°F whenever possible.

Separate Foods

  • Raw meat on the bottom.
  • Ready-to-eat foods above.
  • Keep poultry sealed.

Hand Washing

Wash hands before handling food and after touching raw meat.

Leftovers

Refrigerate promptly. If food has remained unrefrigerated for too long,
discard it rather than taking a chance.
